There’s something about summer that makes me want to get lost in a good book, especially if I’m traveling or relaxing poolside. This summer I’m revisiting a few of my all time favorite reads and excited for some new releases from my favorite authors.

Red Sparrow
(Vol. 1) by Jason Matthews
A debut novel from Jason Matthews (former CIA- agent) and the first of its trilogy, Red Sparrow was poorly adapted for the screen in 2018. The novel itself is more complex, action packed and suspenseful with smart dialogue, a strong, globetrotting, female protagonist, and a forbidden love story. One of my favorite trilogies and re-reads of all time.
Palace of Treason
(Vol. 1) by Jason Matthews
The second in Mathews’ series dives deeper in stakes, suspense and intrigue.
The Kremlin’s Candidate (Vol. 3)
(Vol. 1) by Jason Matthews
A spectacular conclusion to the Red Sparrow series.
The It Girl
by Ruth Wood
One of my favorite modern day authors, Ruth Wood, writes whodunit books that always keep me coming back for more. Fast paced, captivating and mind boggling, I love reading her novels while traveling or on vacation. Thus far, I haven’t seen an ending coming yet.
House of Gucci
by Sara G. Forden
Murder, madness, glamor and greed wrapped up in a true crime chronicle that give readers a behind the scenes look at one of the most well known global fashion brands today. Sometimes it’s nice to be reminded that not everyone has their s*** together.
A Court of Thorns and Roses
by Sarah J. Maas
This book has been a topic of conversation and insta-stories for a while now, and I’m interested in the hype. A young adult fantasy romance filled with complex characters and budding sexual tension is just the kind of thing I like to get lost in with a glass bottle of wine.
